About me

I am Dafne Gonzalez from Venezuela, now living in Spain.  I have been an EFL/ESP teacher for more than 30 years. I graduated in Language Teaching, have a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics, and a PhD in Education from Universidad de Valencia in Spain.

I am a retired full professor from Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela. Besides designing and teaching technology-related courses (blended and online) at the graduate level, I ta have taught blended and online English for Architecture and Urban Planning courses, face-to-face courses of English for Science and Technology. In 2002 I became part of the TESOL Electronic Village Online (EVO) coordination team and I designed and co-moderated the EVO online workshop Becoming a Webhead for language teachers worldwide for 10 years. I have also designed and co-facilitated the online course Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online for the TESOL Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program (2004-2016). I have designed and delivered graduate online courses for the UNED (National University of Distance Education) in Spain since 2009. In 2007 I designed and delivered courses in Second Life for languagelab.com. Since my retirement I have been teaching General English and Spanish face-to-face and online, as well as English for Tourism and Restaurant workers.

I have been a frequent presenter at international conferences, and I have published articles and book chapters in different international journals and books in the areas of language teaching, e-learning and virtual worlds.
